Vestaburg Wolverines Dominate in Statement Win, 81–6 The Vestaburg Wolverines put together a complete team performance last night, overpowering Walkerville in an impressive 81–6 victory. From start to finish, Vestaburg played connected, unselfish basketball—moving the ball, defending with purpose, and controlling every facet of the game. Explosive Start Sets the Tone Vestaburg came out firing, dropping 48 points in the first quarter and never looking back. The Wolverines shared the ball beautifully, finishing with 22 assists and shooting an efficient 47.9% from the field. Inside scoring was dominant, as Vestaburg went 31-for-51 on two-point attempts and racked up 56 points in the paint. Relentless Defense Fuels the Offense The Wolverines’ defensive energy was the true backbone of the win. Vestaburg forced 35 turnovers, grabbed 26 steals, and held Walkerville scoreless in both the first and third quarters. Those stops turned into easy offense—49 points off turnovers and 29 transition points. Deflections, pressure, and intensity were constant, resulting in a suffocating defensive effort that Walkerville couldn’t escape. Winning the Battle on the Boards Vestaburg dominated the glass, pulling down 24 offensive rebounds and converting them into 16 second-chance points. Every Wolverine crashed hard, keeping possessions alive and wearing down the defense. Balanced Scoring and Standout Efforts It was a true team win, with scoring coming from all over the roster: Lucas Warczinsky (#33) led the Wolverines with 22 points, 7 rebounds, 7 deflections, and 8 steals—an all-around standout performance. Brehm Warczinsky (#12) delivered 16 points, including a three and a perfect night at the line. Jansen Scholer (#4) added 15 points on 7-of-8 shooting, plus 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Kofee Arntz (#23) scored an efficient 12 points on 6-for-7 shooting. Kolton Killmer (#2) battled for 7 rebounds and added 6 points. Walker Arntz (#20) and Jackson Kilmer (#32) combined for strong minutes, rebounding, and disruptive defense. The Wolverines saw contributions from everyone who stepped on the floor—exactly the type of team basketball the coaching staff wants to build on. A Confidence-Building Performance This win showcased what Wolverines basketball looks like at its best: teamwork, toughness, unselfish play, and a defensive identity that drives everything.
