Vestaburg Sweeps Tri-County Behind Explosive Offense

Game 1: Vestaburg 16, Tri-County 6 After giving up four runs in the first two innings—helped by a few defensive errors—Vestaburg’s bats came alive in a big way. The Wolverines finished with 17 total hits compared to Tri-County’s seven. Leading the offensive charge was Kelsey Cole, who went a perfect 4-for-4 at the plate. Emma Myers and Terian DeVerney each added three hits, with DeVerney driving in five RBIs. Jaiden Anderson, Jersie Miller, and Kelsie Stowell all contributed two hits apiece, with Stowell collecting two doubles. Hayden Lott also added an RBI triple. In the circle, Jersie Miller pitched all six innings, striking out eight while walking just two. Of the six runs allowed, only one was earned, highlighting a strong overall performance. Game 2: Vestaburg 25, Tri-County 14 Vestaburg jumped out to an early 3-0 lead but surrendered six runs in the bottom of the first inning, trailing 6-3 after one. The Wolverines responded with a massive second inning, scoring 14 runs. Despite allowing seven runs in the same inning, Vestaburg held a 17-13 lead after two. The offense stayed hot throughout the game. Emma Myers led the way, going 3-for-4. Kelsie Stowell also had a standout performance, going 3-for-5 with five RBIs. Kelsey Cole, Ella Beres, Jersie Miller, and Hayden Lott each added two hits. Alyssa Litwiller recorded her first career hit in the top of the third inning with an RBI single. Jaiden Anderson and Terian DeVerney each chipped in with a hit, as every Wolverine recorded at least one. Ella Beres started in the circle, but after a tough opening, Jersie Miller returned to pitch a strong and gritty 5⅓ innings. She allowed just two hits and one run (unearned), while striking out seven and walking two. It was a great night for Vestaburg, as the team returned to the win column with contributions from every player.
